Based on our everyday diet and lifestyle; one out of every two men and one out of every three women will be diagnosed with cancer. But despite those huge numbers, most individuals are unaware of the significance of this pandemic. If you fail to exercise regularly and eat healthy foods made up of mainly fruits and vegetables, you’re already at an increased risk of getting cancer. In this blog post today, I am going to define cancer and list various ways of how to avoid the disease likewise foods to limit which may put you at an increased risk of getting cancer.

What is cancer?

At the simplest level, cancer or cancer cells are cells that have lost their ability to follow the normal control that the body exerts on all cells. In our body, we have billions and billions of cells and they all have different functions to perform to include keeping your heart beating and lungs breathing. Whenever a cell malfunctions and fails to follow the normal protocol, the cell will self-destruct through a process called apoptosis. However, if the cell is unable to commit suicide and decides to diverge on its own; then this cell becomes what is classified as a cancer cell. These cells then travel throughout the body disguised thereafter tricking the body tissues and organs into supplying them with food. However, some of these cancerous cells are unable to survive in the blood stream and eventually die while others are killed by the immune system and while blood cells. Those cells that successfully make through this journey then latch onto muscles and tissues and feed themselves while growing. Together, these cells form what is called a cancer tumor. Specifically, cancer is a malignant tumor and we call it malignant because not only can it invade into adjacent organs, but unfortunately cancer can spread to other tissues and even the brain which can be life threatening.

Healthy tips to reduce your risks of getting Cancer

Some of us are genetically blessed, no matter what despite their lifestyle; they will die without ever cancer. However some of us aren’t that lucky. Smoking, frequent alcoholic drinking and lack of exercises are some of the main contributors to increased risk of getting cancer. Some of us are genetically cursed; That is despite our best effort in taking care of ourselves, bad things are going to happen sometimes at a very young age. For most of us, however, we are somewhere in the middle. How we take care of ourselves is going to determine that genetic expression of disease. So for the majority of us here are few key elements in preventing disease and ultimately preventing cancer.

–     Eat an Anti-Inflammatory Foods to fight cancer cells:

Consuming high Anti-inflammatory foods growing is one of the best ways to go for prevent or treating cancer. Anti-inflammatory foods such as: turmeric, salmon or spinach; helps to detoxify the body and rid the body of destructive toxins which can harm the body. Scientific evidence strongly supports that inflammation is the foundation upon which disease occurs in our body. However, by consuming anti-inflammatory foods; you will be able to boost your immune defense and help rid your body of inflammation, waste material and bad toxins.  Instead I recommend adjusting your diet for foods that will help to reduce your risks such as Mediterranean or zone like diet with lots of fresh vegetables, fruits, lean proteins and healthy pure fat, added with fresh fish oils to your nutrition will further help reduce inflammation.

We all know exercise is very important for a healthy lifestyle, yet still most of us prefer sitting on the couch watching television or on social media over taking 15 minutes of walking daily. Exercise helps to boost both mental and physical health. Exercising does not have to be paying expensive gym memberships or hiring a personal trainer for advice. As simple as taking 20-minutes daily walk can make a big difference in your life. So you have no excuse when it comes to exercise.

 

–     Get Plenty Of Sleep

For an adult at least six hours of sleep, a night is needed to help our bodies rejuvenate. Poor sleep is associated with high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes and other illnesses as well. Our advice is not a rocket science yet most of us avoid these simple principles to stay healthy, fit, young and charming.

 

If you eat the following foods daily, then you’re at an increased risk of getting cancer as they foods offer no nutritional value and boost your risk of getting sick. This list contains some of the foods that cause cancer or increase your risks of getting cancer.

Here are the top 10 foods that are commonly found on our dining tables which are believed to contain possible carcinogens.

 

1- Micro wave popcorn, Micro wave popcorn is a convenient and relatively healthy snack but the baguette comes in, is another story. Many microwave popcorn bags are lined with the chemical called perfluorooctanoic acid or PFOA. This product has been found to significantly raise the risk of breast, kidney, colorectal, bladder, prostate, lung, thyroid, leukaemia and lymphoma cancers.

 

2- Light flowers, light flowers start off as seeds that are treated with fungicide. The plants are then sprayed with pesticides harvested and stored densely coated with insecticides all of which increase toxicity. Grains are then processed using high temperatures and high-speed roller soften using chlorine dioxide as a Widener, the end result is a starch absent of nutrients rich in toxins.

 

3- Soda sports drinks, there is no nutritional value and drinking soda or sports drinks. These drinks contain high fructose corn syrup, sugar, dies, brominated vegetable oils and aspartame which has been leading to an increased risk of cancer.

 

4- Potato chips, potato chips quick crispy snacks may be really convenient and great-tasting but they are also abounding in harmful facts upon health. First of all potato chips are high in both fat and calories which stimulate weight gain. Potato chips are fried at high temperatures to make them crispy but this also causes them to produce acrylic amide a known carcinogen also found in cigarettes. Last but not least, potato chips are packed with artificial flavours, various preservatives and colours all of which have an adverse effect on digestion.

 

5- Sugar, cancer self-drive on sugar and any food that converts to sugar such as grains, pasta, cards, bread and most roots. So for those who are dealing with cancer, eliminating sugar is the key.

 

6- Canned Tomatoes, once again when it comes to food, the real problem lies in what the Can is lined with as the linings of almost all canned foods are made with the chemical called bisphenol A or BPA. Canned tomatoes are particularly dangerous since the FDA doesn’t smack any logs for labelling BPA. Its levels and Can lighting can be dangerously high.

 

7- Artificial Sweeteners, artificial sweeteners are used by many to either lose weight or because they are diabetic and must avoid sugar. Moreover, artificial sweeteners even worse in blood sugar control including diabetes related disease such as cataracts and gastroparesis. Aspartame has even been found to cause convulsions and some people mistake this for an influencer reaction. It breaks down in the body into a deadly toxin called DKP. When this chemical is digested into your stomach it produces cancer-causing chemicals particularly those that trigger a brain tumour.

 

8- Processed Meat, processed meat tends to be high in nitrites and nitrates. Preservatives, that can in large amounts potentially increase your risk of stomach and other cancers. Processed foods are also typically full of white flowers, sugars, oils, colours, flavourings and other unhealthy ingredients.

 

9- GMOs, foods that have been genetically modified or grown with chemicals are defined as GMOs or genetically modified organisms. However, not many know that the FDA doesn’t have any testing procedures for GMO foods. Moreover, GMOs do not have to be listed on food labels as almost all grains including soybeans, wheat and corn have been grown via GMOs. Make sure to read carefully and look for labels that state the food GMO-free.

 

10- Farmed Fish, according to food and water watch farmed fish contains higher levels of chemical pollutants and wild fish including PCBs known carcinogen. Due to over crowding in fish farms, fish are more susceptible to disease, increasing the need to use antibiotics. They are also more susceptible to sea life which means they are also treated with pesticides.
