Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the best way to look younger and healthier. As a human being, you age – unless you’ve found the Fountain of Youth. Everyone ages, but with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, many people not only slow down the aging process but also reverse it. I started BJJ in 2011 at 31 years young, and over the last few years have noticed my body getting stronger and feeling better than ever before. This is not just a feeling; this is real. And it’s not just me. Many people notice that their bodies change and become healthier as they continue to practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, including increased flexibility, strength, endurance, and balance. This is one of the many reasons that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is such a great workout.

The problem is that BJJ can be hard to get started with, especially if you’re not familiar with martial arts. But there are certain ways to make it easier for you. There are many benefits to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and it’s easy to get started. But there are some things that you can do to make sure you enjoy your experience more.

The first thing is to find a school that has quality instructors who know how to teach BJJ properly. The second thing is to make sure you have a good training partner who can help you learn the techniques. And third, don’t be afraid to ask questions if you’re not sure what’s going on during class. So, if you are planning to join a gym to incorporate some exercises into your routine, you need to invest in comfortable and stretchable gym attire that should also have sweat-wicking properties.

In today’s blog, I will be discussing 5 reasons why BJJ is the fountain of youth, so let’s take a look.

1. Improved skin health with BJJ

BJJ is a lifelong sport that can be enjoyed at any age, even if you’re 40 or older, you can still train BJJ and improve your skills, stamina, health, and confidence. The human body is a remarkable thing, and we’re not just talking about its ability to choke people unconscious. No matter what you do in life even if you don’t train in BJJ your lifestyle comes with certain costs. The concept, known as the skin aging clock, explains how every choice you make from diet to exercise can impact your skin. By looking at how skin health is affected by various lifestyles, we will determine how BJJ helps you have better skin when you are young.

BJJ is good for your skin because it helps your skin by providing more oxygen, helps you lose weight, improves blood circulation, decreases stress, and makes you feel empowered. It is a great way to get rid of stress, which can cause you to age faster. When stressed out your body releases more cortisol, which ages your skin and makes it less elastic.

2. Protecting The Strands Of DNA

Telomeres are a part of your DNA and are best thought of as the portion of your DNA that shorten when you age. DNA and telomeres are made up of specialized proteins, called histones and other non-histone proteins. These proteins organize themselves into compact domains that help to keep DNA winding around chromosome organization structures (supercoils), which in turn help to keep the system intact. Scientists believe that the length of our telomeres and the protection of our DNA is largely dependent on exercise and a clean and healthy diet.

So when you perform exercises you are not only preventing yourself from heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, and from other types of illness but also improving the health of your cell as well.

According to the Institute for Biogerontology in Madrid, Spain, and the Genetic Information Research Institute in Berkeley, California, it is suggested that people who perform a rigorous exercise such as Brazilian jiu-jitsu or cardio activities on a regular basis have improved DNA structure over those that do not.

3. Get Stronger With Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

The first thing that practicing Jiu Jitsu does for your body is that it keeps you fit and strong. The reason why this happens is that Jiu-Jitsu requires you to use all parts of your body including arms, legs, and hips while performing different moves. This helps engage all major muscles in the body which results in increased muscle strength and tone.

Jiu Jitsu also helps improve flexibility in your joints which makes them more flexible than before. The reason for this is that during Jiu-Jitsu sessions, you need to execute various types of movements such as bending forward or backward, twisting or turning, etc which require flexibility from every part of your body including joints like knees and elbows, etc so as to perform these movements smoothly without any hindrance.

Also as discussed before, if you want to improve your overall fitness by indulging yourself in some workout, then you need to invest in getting lightweight and high-quality gym outfits in order to make your workout and training sessions comfortable.

4. Improved bones health with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

The first way that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu improves bone health is by strengthening muscles that support the bones and joints during movement. Strong muscles help protect against injuries like sprains or strains in addition to preventing osteoporosis (the loss of bone density) later on in life. Stronger muscles also increase flexibility which improves balance and reduces the likelihood of falling and breaking bones.

The second way that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu improves bone health is by increasing the body’s metabolism. This means that your body will burn calories at a faster rate, which can lead to weight loss.

Similarly, the research was conducted that involved 20 women between the ages of 55 and 65 who had been practicing BJJ for at least three years. Another 20 women who did not practice BJJ were used as a control group. Both groups underwent CT scans of their lower limbs to assess bone mineral density (BMD), which is measured by X-ray technology that analyzes how much mineral is inside your bones.

The researchers found that BJJ practitioners had higher bone mineral density in their thighs, hips, and forearms than the control group. The difference was even more pronounced in women who had been practicing for more than five years. The study’s authors say that the results suggest that BJJ can help prevent osteoporosis, a disease where bones become brittle and break easily.

5. Improved stamina and endurance with Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

The main objective of BJJ is to control your opponent through joint locks and chokeholds. As a result, you have to spend a lot of time on the ground, which makes it very similar to wrestling, which also requires a lot of time spent on the floor.

BJJ is an excellent way to improve your endurance because it requires you to constantly be active for long periods of time without rest breaks if you want to win any match. Jiu Jitsu matches can last more than 20 minutes. They can also go as short as 5 minutes depending on the level of competition. White belts fight for 10 minutes while black belts fight for 15 minutes). This means that all those who practice BJJ have very high levels of physical fitness.

The best part about Jiu-Jitsu is that anyone can do it, regardless of gender or age. There are no restrictions on who can join classes in gyms around the world, so anyone can get involved in this amazing sport!
